InstructaPole Teacher Training Pre-Training Assignments
Once you receive your 3 INTRO TO POLE class pack, take those intro classes in preparation for our course.
ALL NOTES/WRITING SHOULD BE DONE AFTER THE CLASS
WHILE IN CLASS, YOU SHOULD BLEND IN AS A REGULAR STUDENT, OBSERVING HOW THAT INSTRUCTOR HANDLES WARM UPS, CUEING, DIALOGUE, ETC
Please do no interrupt the instructor during the class to ask questions about teaching. Our instructors are there to teach the class for IncrediPole, and have no association with InstructaPole.
Write down a one aspect of their warm up sequence that stood out to you. And why that piece stuck out to you.
Jot down a few ways their sequencing during the main part of class stood out to you. Do they teach a flow right away or focus on separate moves? What approach do you like and why? How do they explain basic terminology like inside/outside limbs? Think of a class and a teacher you love.
List 3 things you like about it that create the environment.
Write out an idea for a short intro level sequence you could teach, in your words, in your style. Do not write down another instructors’ teaching method verbatim, make it your own.
Choose at least two of the following questions and write out brief responses
We will discuss some of these on our first day. Keep in mind it’s ok if you don’t know all the answers yet.
Setting goals:
What are your teaching goals?
What style of class do you imagine yourself teaching?
Why Teach?
Why do you want to teach?
What first got you interested in teaching pole?
What kind of environment or vibe do you want to create in class?
Do you have a target demographic and if so how can you reach them and make your classes relevant to them?
Have you taught other things in the past? How did it go? What were your strengths and what did you struggle with?
